LATISSE®: Increase length and darkness and more than double lash fullness in 16 weeks
LATISSE® is the first FDA approved treatment for inadequate eyelashes. This solution is a prescription product to grow lashes longer, thicker and darker. The treatment is applied to your upper eyelashes once a day. Within 4 weeks, you will see visible results. Typically it takes up to 16 weeks to achieve maximum results with Latisse®. Unlike some beauty treatments, the results of using Latisse® always look natural and attractive.
Most often, you will begin to see your lashes lengthen initially following that you will notice your lashes getting thicker and darker. One Latisse kit will usually last for 8 weeks. Some of our patients with thinning eyebrows have experience more brow color and definition, as well. Often, once you have achieved maximum fullness, application is not necessary daily. If you decide to stop using Latisse®, usually the results recede within about two months.
While most everyone may want the look of longer, fuller and darker lashes, not everyone may be right for treatment with Latisse®. Our skin care team will be happy to consult with you to determine if Latisse is right for you. We will work with you to determine if you have any medical condition or allergies that might prevent you from using Latisse®.
It’s important to remember that eyelashes grow in a cycle, over several months. Although researchers don’t know exactly how LATISSE® works, it’s believed to increase the percentage of hairs in the active growth phase, as well as make the active growth phase longer. LATISSE® solution works gradually. While patients may start seeing longer lashes after 4 weeks, they must use LATISSE® daily for 16 weeks for full results. Patients should not reduce or stop daily application of LATISSE® when they first notice results.
