MALE BREAST REDUCTION (GYNECOMASTIA)

CASE# 9854

DETAILS: This 21 year old young man had gynecomastia since his early teen years. He had been overweight as a teen, but after losing over 45 lbs., he still retained excess breast tissue. His gynecomastia consisted of some fibrous tissue, but mostly fatty breast tissue. In these patients, I prefer to do liposuction instead of glandular excision since liposuction leaves a smaller scar and a more even contour. Many patients with glandular excision end up with a sunken in appearance to the nipple area.

His results are shown 3 months after combined ultrasonic and vacuum assisted liposuction showing a marked improvement in the chest contour.

MALE BREAST REDUCTION (GYNECOMASTIA)

CASE# 10375

DETAILS: This 43 year-old gentleman was always heavy as a child and had excess fatty tissue in his chest area. Despite having some skin hanging over the chest fold, we decided to just perform liposuction as a first step and see how much his tissue would shrink up, since his only other option would require a larger scar to remove the extra skin.

He had a combination of ultrasonic liposuction and vacuum-assisted liposuction removing the excess fat from his chest. His results are shown 5 months after his procedure showing much better contour of his chest and less loose skin than he had before surgery due to the contraction of the skin after liposuction.

MALE BREAST REDUCTION (GYNECOMASTIA)

CASE# 8835

DETAILS:  This man had gynecomastia or male breast enlargement. The excess breast tissue can be either fibrous glandular tissue, fatty tissue, or a combination of both. Men with a significant fatty component respond very well to liposuction and often do not need the gland resected-a procedure that often leaves them with a concave depression beneath the areolae.

This gentleman had liposuction only, using a combination of ultrasonic and traditional liposuction.

Individual results may vary.
