What should you expect during your first BOTOX™ visit?

Over 11 million women and men have experienced the benefits of BOTOX® because it effectively treats "dynamic wrinkles" – those caused by repeated facial expressions. Botox works to smooth and rejuvenate your skin for a younger, healthier look.

BOTOX® has proven popular with patients in Nashville, Tennessee, as the treatment is simple, quick and nonsurgical, and you can often see a difference after only a few days. However, the effects are not permanent; you will have to return for treatment after a few months. How often you must go back depends on factors such as skin elasticity, age and treatment site.

You will love your new smoother appearance. Feel the freedom to laugh, smile and frown—without those pesky lines!

BOTOX® is suitable for people of all ages, except those who are pregnant or breastfeeding, allergic to ingredients in BOTOX® or have an infection in the area to be treated. Those who have neuromuscular disorders should proceed with caution, as they may experience serious side effects from the treatment. Speak with Dr. Griffin if you have such a disorder or any other concerns.

At your initial consultation, one of Dr. Griffin’s qualified and skillfully trained Registered Nurse Injectors will evaluate your health, discuss your medical history and assess the contours of your face. They will then review your goals and make recommendations based on their evaluation. The techniques used in BOTOX® injection will be described in detail, and informational materials will be provided. Be sure to notify them of any medicine you are taking and if you have any allergies, active skin issues or illnesses that affect your nerves and muscles.

Your first visit to our office for treatment will last approximately 45 minutes.   After the initial Consultation, the entire process takes only about 15 minutes with no downtime afterward.

No anesthesia is required in BOTOX® injections, although if you are concerned about or sensitive to pain, topical anesthetic cream can be used to numb the area. You will be asked to move certain facial muscles in order to determine the best points to inject BOTOX®. The substance will be injected directly into the muscles at several points in the area to be treated.

After the procedure, you are free to continue with your normal activities. Occasionally, some patients may experience slight discomfort, redness or bruising at the injection site but usually goes away within an hour of treatment.  Note:  Results vary from person to person, and it's important to discuss any allergies or skin concerns you have with our skin care professionals prior to treatment.

Although results aren't immediate, you can expect to see noticeably smoother skin within just a few days. Your treatment with BOTOX® will continue to improve your appearance for up to 30 days.

Visible results vary from person to person, but most patients can expect results to last up to 4 months.  Repeat treatments are required to maintain a youthful appearance and prevent wrinkles from returning.  Discuss with Dr. Griffin how often you should repeat BOTOX® treatments.

Costs are dependent upon your individual goals and needs.
