Male Body Contouring FAQs
What's the difference between liposuction and a tummy tuck for men?
Liposuction removes stubborn fat but won't address loose skin. A tummy tuck removes excess skin and tightens the muscle underneath, which is why some men need both.
How do I know which procedure is right for me?
It comes down to your skin quality and where your excess fat sits. Dr. Griffin reviews both during your consultation and recommends the approach, or combination, that fits your body.
What's recovery like?
Liposuction recovery is typically quicker than abdominoplasty. Dr. Griffin will give you a specific timeline based on which procedures you have.
When will I see final results?
Swelling needs time to resolve, so your contour keeps refining for a few months. Most men see a clear picture of their results within three to six months.
Are there non-surgical options?
For smaller areas of stubborn fat, a non-surgical treatment may offer gradual improvement without downtime. Dr. Griffin can tell you whether that's realistic for your goals or whether surgery will get you there faster.
What are the risks?
Risks include infection, fluid buildup, and changes in skin sensation, among others common to body surgery. Dr. Griffin reviews what applies to your specific procedure.
Is male body contouring covered by insurance?
Cosmetic body contouring generally isn't covered. An exception may apply if excess skin is causing a documented medical issue, which our office can help you look into.
